Imposter Syndrome: Cassidy Taylor heals by 'airing some laundry' to the world.

I can only imagine how scary it must've been for Cassidy Taylor to confront, and then take the courage to write, record and ultimately bare to the public her 'way of being' that's been sabotaging her life in her new song 'Slip Away'.
To reveal that you haven't been able to be authentic, to the point where it's become a habit that you believe will prevent you from ever falling in love, is a scary proposition to face.
So what's the first step in getting out of 'Imposter Syndrome'? For Cassidy, writing about it and putting it out there - 'letting us know' - was the way. I think we can all relate. After all, the cliché 'just be yourself' wouldn't be there if it was so easy. Being your authentic self is a daily courageous feat to accomplish.
"...this song marks so many important moments in my life, but above all, it's allowed me to move on. though it terrifies me, i can't wait for you to hear it." – Cassidy Taylor
LYRICS - SLIP AWAY
I felt the undertow
And I'm so tired of letting go
I don't fall in love
I think I feel too much
When the moment holds me captive, I
I just might let you in
You'll never really know me though You can try to hold me close But I'll just slip away, oh You'll never really have me, so I just thought you should know
Is that all you see
Is the light inside of me?
I don't talk enough
But I feel so much
When the moment holds me captive, I
I just might let you in
You'll never really know me though
You can try to hold me close
But I'll just slip away, oh
You'll never really have me, so
I just thought you should know
You'll never really know me You can try to hold me close But I'll just slip away, oh You'll never really have me, so I will always be alone I just thought you should know
